Introduction
Deploy WordPress, custom PHP and Node apps, or any project — on servers you own. Manage SSL, backups and databases from the dashboard, the CLI, or by simply asking your AI agent.
Get started
The fastest way to work with xCloud is to connect your AI client over xCloud MCP and manage your hosting by asking. It works with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, Hermes and any MCP-compatible client, it is built on the xCloud Public API, and it is free with every account. Not into AI agents? Skip to Build directly.
Set up xCloud MCP
Connect your client, then ask it to manage your hosting.
Run this in your terminal. Then type /mcp inside Claude Code and choose Authenticate; the browser opens for the xCloud approval screen.
claude mcp add xcloud --transport http https://app.xcloud.host/mcpStep by step with screenshots: Claude Code setup guide.
Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Name it xcloud and paste this URL. Claude Desktop opens the browser sign-in for you.
https://app.xcloud.host/mcpStep by step with screenshots: Claude Desktop setup guide.
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or use Settings, then MCP, then Add new MCP server. Click Needs login on the server to approve. Cursor caps a server at 40 tools: if it refuses the list, use the compact URL from the reference below.
{
"mcpServers": {
"xcloud": { "url": "https://app.xcloud.host/mcp" }
}
}Step by step with screenshots: Cursor setup guide.
Run both lines in your terminal. The second one opens the browser sign-in.
codex mcp add xcloud --url https://app.xcloud.host/mcp
codex mcp login xcloudStep by step with screenshots: Codex setup guide.
Add this under "mcp" in ~/.config/opencode/opencode.jsonc, then run opencode mcp auth xcloud to sign in.
"xcloud": { "type": "remote", "url": "https://app.xcloud.host/mcp", "enabled": true, "oauth": {} }Step by step with screenshots: OpenCode setup guide.
Add this to ~/.hermes/config.yaml. On first connect Hermes prints the authorize link and opens your browser for the xCloud sign-in; run hermes mcp login xcloud if you ever need to re-authorize.

GitHub Copilot, VS Code and any client that speaks MCP Streamable HTTP: add the server URL under mcpServers in its config. OAuth starts on first use. A client that only runs local servers can bridge with mcp-remote.

Ask your agent
Once the connector is live, describe the task in plain words — the agent picks the right xCloud tool, runs it under the access you granted, and hands the result back in the conversation. Verify in 30 seconds with these three, in order:
- “Who am I on xCloud?”
- “List the teams this connection can access.”
- “Which of my sites have pending WordPress updates?”
Access: Read-only · Full accessRisky changes ask first, reads neverOne connection, every team you choose
From there: 40+ prompts grouped by job, including how to write one that works, and Agent Skills if you want the agent to also know xCloud's workflows, not only its tools.
Build directly
Prefer to click, or building your own integration? Start in the dashboard or call the Public API that MCP itself runs on.
For AI agents: every doc is available as plain Markdown — add index.md to any docs URL, or use Copy page above to hand this page to your LLM.
What can xCloud do?
Built for speed
Every server ships on OpenLiteSpeed with a full caching stack, so sites are fast without extra tuning. Layer edge full-page caching, object caching and OPcache, then watch the numbers from the dashboard.
Why xCloud?
xCloud is managed WordPress hosting on infrastructure you control. Bring your own cloud provider, and xCloud handles the servers, security and updates for you — through a dashboard, an API, or your AI agent.
- Any provider. Run on DigitalOcean, AWS, Vultr, Hetzner, Linode and more, or your own VPS.
- WordPress-first. Staging, one-click apps, migrations and backups built for WordPress teams.
- Fast by default. OpenLiteSpeed with xSpeed edge caching, Redis object cache and OPcache — no plugins to wire up.
- Fully managed. Free SSL, firewalls and vulnerability scans, kept up to date for you.
- Agent-ready. The same Public API powers the dashboard and xCloud MCP, so nothing happens off the record.
