# xCloud Reseller Hosting Program Features

> Set up the xCloud Reseller Hosting Program — branding, custom domain, products, Stripe, SMTP, and legal pages — plus the hosting features you can resell.

xCloud Reseller Hosting gives agencies and hosting businesses a branded control plane for selling and managing hosting under their own identity. This guide is for reseller owners and team members who need to configure the storefront, publish products, connect billing and email services, manage clients, and understand the hosting capabilities available in xCloud v2.8.9.

## Prerequisites

Before you start, confirm that you have:

- An xCloud account with access to **Reseller Hosting**.
- Owner or authorized team-member access to the reseller workspace.
- A brand name, logo, favicon, support address, and contact details.
- A domain or subdomain you control if you plan to use a custom reseller domain.
- A Stripe account if you want to collect payments through Stripe Connect.
- SMTP credentials if you want reseller emails to come from your own mail service.
- Product names, prices, renewal periods, and site limits for the plans you intend to sell.

Feature visibility can depend on your plan and team permissions. A feature configured as hidden is unavailable in the interface. A feature configured as disabled may show a plan-specific access message.

## 1. Open the reseller overview

1. Sign in to xCloud.
2. Select the team that owns the reseller workspace.
3. Go to **Reseller → Overview**.
4. Review the totals for clients, products, servers, and sites.
5. Use **View All** or the reseller navigation to open the corresponding management page.

**Expected result:** The overview shows the reseller's current inventory and links to the landing page, client dashboard, products, servers, sites, clients, and billing areas.

![The reseller overview with inventory totals.](/_landing/docs/xcloud-reseller-hosting-program-features-01-reseller-overview.png)

The reseller overview is an operational summary. A zero total means that no matching resource exists in the current reseller workspace. It does not mean that the feature is unavailable.

## 2. Create and publish hosting products

1. Go to **Reseller → Products**.
2. Select **Add Product**.
3. Choose the product source — **xCloud** or **Self Managed Provider**.
4. For an xCloud product, choose the server plan and size.
5. Enter the plan name, SKU, selling price, renewal type, site limit, stack, and any other fields shown for the selected product type.
6. Review the configuration, then select **Save and Publish**.

**Expected result:** The plan appears in the Products table with its price, renewal type, site limit, and status. Published plans can be presented to reseller customers.

### Product management options

| Option | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Status filter | Shows active or inactive products. |
| Edit | Changes an existing product's configuration. |
| Duplicate | Creates a copy that you can adjust before publishing. |
| Delete | Removes the selected product after confirmation. |
| Addons | Manages reseller add-on products separately from server products. |

**Important:** A self-managed product can use only a provider that belongs to the current team. Product availability also depends on the server type, provider integration, and reseller plan.

## 3. Manage reseller clients

1. Go to **Reseller → All Clients**.
2. Use **Sort By Status** to show active or inactive clients.
3. Review each client's server count and status.
4. Select **Manage** to open the client's details and available management actions.

**Expected result:** The client list shows the customer, resource count, current status, and a management action.

![The reseller client-management list.](/_landing/docs/xcloud-reseller-hosting-program-features-03-client-management.png)

Clients normally enter the reseller system through the reseller's customer-facing purchase and account flow. The current All Clients page does not provide a general **Add Client** button.

## 4. Configure the reseller brand

1. Go to **Reseller → Settings → Brand**.
2. Upload a logo in PNG, JPEG, or JPG format. Use a logo that is at least 212 × 40 pixels and no larger than 5 MB.
3. Upload a favicon in PNG or ICO format. Use a favicon that is at least 16 × 16 pixels and no larger than 1 MB.
4. Enter the brand name, contact number, public contact address, support address, business address, copyright name, and interface language.
5. Select **Save**.

**Expected result:** The saved identity is used across the reseller experience where the corresponding brand element is supported.

## 5. Connect a custom domain

1. Go to **Reseller → Settings → Domain**.
2. Enter the domain or subdomain you control.
3. Add the displayed DNS record at your DNS provider exactly as xCloud shows it.
4. Wait for the DNS change to propagate.
5. Return to xCloud and select **Verify My DNS**.
6. Select **Save** after verification succeeds.

**Expected result:** xCloud confirms the required DNS record and associates the verified hostname with the reseller experience.

![Adding and verifying the custom reseller domain DNS record.](/_landing/docs/xcloud-reseller-hosting-program-features-05-custom-domain-dns.png)

Do not remove or change the DNS record after activation unless you are replacing the domain. DNS propagation time is controlled by the DNS provider and the record's time to live.

## 6. Configure the built-in landing page

1. Go to **Reseller → Settings → Landing Page**.
2. Enable **Landing Page**.
3. Upload the navigation logo.
4. Enter the hero heading, supporting text, button label, and button destination.
5. Configure the call-to-action section.
6. Add only the social links you want to display.
7. Select **Preview** and review the page.
8. Select **Save**.

**Expected result:** The reseller's built-in landing page uses the saved branding and content. Supported social fields in v2.8.9 include Facebook, Instagram, X.com, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

![The reseller landing-page settings.](/_landing/docs/xcloud-reseller-hosting-program-features-06-landing-page-settings.png)

If you use your own external marketing site, you can leave the built-in landing page disabled and direct customers to the reseller dashboard or purchase flow from your own site.

## 7. Connect payments

1. Go to **Reseller → Settings → Payment**.
2. Under **Stripe Account**, select **Connect Now**.
3. Complete the Stripe Connect flow in the Stripe window.
4. Return to xCloud and confirm that the connection is shown as active.
5. If clients use 3D Secure cards, add the Stripe publishable key in **Stripe 3DS Card Setup**.

**Expected result:** The reseller workspace can use the connected Stripe account for supported client payments.

![Connecting a Stripe account with Stripe Connect.](/_landing/docs/xcloud-reseller-hosting-program-features-07-stripe-connect.png)

Never enter a Stripe secret key in the publishable-key field. Keep payment credentials out of support tickets, screenshots, and shared documentation.

## 8. Configure reseller email delivery

1. Go to **Reseller → Settings → SMTP**.
2. Enable **Use Custom SMTP**.
3. Enter the SMTP host, port, username, password, from address, and encryption mode supplied by your mail provider.
4. Prefer **TLS** or **SSL** when your provider supports it.
5. Select **Save**.

**Expected result:** Supported reseller emails use the saved mail service and sender identity.

![Configuring custom reseller SMTP.](/_landing/docs/xcloud-reseller-hosting-program-features-08-custom-smtp.png)

Selecting **None** for encryption disables certificate validation and can expose mail traffic to interception. Use an encrypted connection in production.

## 9. Set legal pages

1. Go to **Reseller → Settings → Terms & Services**.
2. Choose **Default TOS** to use the provided terms or **Use your own TOS** to enter your own content.
3. Preview the page.
4. Select **Save**.
5. Go to **Reseller → Settings → Privacy Policy** and repeat the process for the privacy notice.

**Expected result:** Customers can access the legal content selected for the reseller storefront and account flow.

![Setting the reseller Terms of Service.](/_landing/docs/xcloud-reseller-hosting-program-features-09-terms-of-service.png)

Resellers are responsible for reviewing their own commercial, tax, privacy, and consumer-law obligations. The default text is a starting option, not legal advice.

## 10. Monitor reseller operations

Use these reseller pages after setup:

| Page | Purpose |
| --- | --- |
| **Overview** | Review client, product, server, and site totals. |
| **Products** | Publish, filter, edit, duplicate, or remove hosting plans. |
| **Addons** | Manage supported reseller add-on products. |
| **All Servers** | Review servers associated with reseller customers. |
| **All Sites** | Review sites associated with reseller customers. |
| **All Clients** | Filter clients and open client details. |
| **Billing** | Review reseller billing information and supported transaction records. |
| **Settings** | Manage payments, branding, domains, SMTP, landing-page content, legal pages, and self-managed provider integration. |

### Team, support, and add-ons

| Area | Included capabilities |
| --- | --- |
| Team operations | Team management subject to role permissions. |
| Customer support | Built-in Support Portal. |
| Add-ons | Site Security Pro powered by Patchstack, MailBox, and Mail Delivery where enabled for the reseller product and account. |

## Limits and edge cases

- A product or feature can be absent because of the reseller plan, team permission, provider, server type, or selected application.
- Hidden plan features are not displayed. Disabled plan features can return an access message instead of opening the requested page.
- Self-managed products require a provider that belongs to the current team.
- Provider scaling, regions, sizes, networking, and root-access behavior remain subject to the provider's capabilities.
- DNS verification cannot complete until the public DNS record matches the value shown by xCloud.
- Stripe onboarding and payment availability are controlled partly by Stripe and the reseller's account eligibility.
- SMTP delivery depends on the external provider, sender authorization, DNS authentication, port access, and valid credentials.
- Add-ons are managed separately from server products and may require separate configuration or billing.
- Docker image deployment is listed as coming soon in the v2.8.9 public feature overview. Do not promise it as an available creation path.
- The dashboard's resource totals report existing records. They do not prove that a customer is eligible to create another resource.

## Verification

Confirm the reseller configuration in this order:

1. **Brand:** Reload **Settings → Brand** and confirm the logo, favicon, brand fields, and language remain saved.
2. **Domain:** Open **Settings → Domain** and confirm DNS verification succeeds for the intended hostname.
3. **Landing page:** Select **Preview** and confirm the saved logo, headings, calls to action, and social links render correctly.
4. **Products:** Open **Products** and confirm each published plan shows the intended renewal type, selling price, site limit, and active status.
5. **Payments:** Confirm the intended Stripe account is connected and use Stripe's own dashboard to verify its status.
6. **Email:** Send an allowed reseller email and verify delivery, sender identity, and TLS behavior through your mail provider.
7. **Legal pages:** Preview both Terms & Services and Privacy Policy from the customer-facing experience.
8. **Client view:** Use a disposable customer account to confirm that published plans and branding appear as expected.

You know the setup is complete when the reseller domain verifies, the branded landing page and dashboard open, at least one intended product is published, the correct payment connection is active, test email delivery succeeds, and the legal pages are accessible.

## Troubleshooting

| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Reseller page returns 404 | The feature is hidden for the current plan or the route is unavailable to the current account. | Confirm reseller access, the active team, and plan entitlements. Contact xCloud Support if the feature should be available. |
| Reseller page returns 403 or an access message | The feature is disabled for the plan or the user lacks permission. | Ask the team owner to check permissions and plan access. |
| The account opens billing instead of Reseller | The current team is pending billing, overdue, suspended, or otherwise unable to use the product. | Resolve the team's billing state, then reopen the reseller page. |
| DNS verification fails | The DNS record is missing, incorrect, proxied when it should not be, or has not propagated. | Compare the record name, type, and value character for character. Check the public DNS response and retry after propagation. |
| A self-managed provider is unavailable during product creation | The provider is not connected to the current team or is not eligible for the selected product. | Connect the provider to the owning team and reopen product creation. |
| Product does not appear to customers | The product is inactive, incomplete, unpublished, or unavailable to the customer flow. | Review the product status, pricing, renewal type, site limit, and publication state. |
| Stripe connection does not complete | Stripe onboarding is unfinished, blocked, or was opened under the wrong Stripe account. | Resume the Stripe Connect flow and verify the account directly in Stripe. |
| SMTP email fails | Credentials, port, encryption, sender address, or provider-side authorization is incorrect. | Match the provider's SMTP settings, authorize the sender, and prefer TLS or SSL. |
| Landing-page changes are missing | Changes were previewed but not saved, or the browser is showing cached content. | Select **Save**, reload the page, and check the configured reseller hostname again. |
| Logo or favicon upload fails | The file type, dimensions, or size does not meet the UI requirements. | Use the documented PNG/JPEG/JPG or PNG/ICO formats and resize the asset within the displayed limits. |

## Common mistakes

- Creating products before defining the reseller brand, domain, payment connection, and customer-facing terms.
- Selecting **Self Managed Provider** before connecting that provider to the current team.
- Entering a Stripe secret key where the interface asks for a publishable key.
- Publishing a plan without checking the selling price, renewal period, site limit, and status.
- Treating an empty dashboard as proof that a feature is unavailable.
- Removing the verified DNS record after the custom domain starts working.
- Using unencrypted SMTP in production even though the mail provider supports TLS or SSL.
- Assuming a copied product is automatically ready for customers without reviewing and publishing it.

## FAQ

### Can I sell both xCloud-backed and self-managed hosting products?

Yes. The product creation flow offers **xCloud** and **Self Managed Provider** sources. A self-managed product can use only an eligible provider connected to the reseller's current team.

### Can I add clients manually from the All Clients page?

No general **Add Client** action is available on the current All Clients page. Clients enter through the supported customer-facing reseller flow.

### Can I use my own domain and landing page?

Yes. Add and verify the required DNS record under **Settings → Domain**, then enable and customize the built-in page under **Settings → Landing Page**. You can also keep your own external marketing site and link it to the reseller customer flow.

### Do I have to use custom SMTP?

No. Custom SMTP is optional. Enable it when you need supported reseller emails to use your own mail service and sender identity.

### Is Docker image deployment available?

Not as a completed reseller creation path in the v2.8.9 feature overview. Docker Compose is included, while Docker image deployment is marked as coming soon.

### Does every reseller product include every feature in this guide?

No. Availability depends on the reseller plan, permissions, product configuration, provider, server type, application type, and add-ons.

## Next steps

- Configure one disposable product and customer account before publishing your full catalog.
- Verify billing, email delivery, legal pages, and domain ownership before directing customers to the reseller portal.
- Contact xCloud Support from the dashboard when the feature should be available but remains hidden or disabled.
